Strategic positioning
At times organisations need to take stock of where they stand with respect to a particular issue.
For example an organisation may wish to review where its fundraising approach stands in relation to other actors, or, when working in complex settings, it may review its relation/approach towards local authorities or other NGOs.
Another common area of reflection for humanitarian organisations is their positioning towards the military or non-state actors.
Increasingly, non-profit organisations are finding themselves in places where they are resourcing, learning, operating and campaigning all at the same time.
